Welcome

Hi, welcome to Company of Heroes Wiki! Thanks for your edit to the Machine Gun Nest page.

User boxes

Hi!

I'm new to Wikia, but I've been editing for a long time now (I recently got old enought to get an account).

I noticed some people have userboxes... Can you tell me how to get these? It'd be a nice help

Ian

Thanks for the welcome Rhino, appreciate it. I'll add some more info while I still have the game with me.

Merging terror doctrine pages

Alright, in any case that I need some help, I would be glad to post here on your talk page :)

- Nuke.

Candidates for deletion/merging

I've marked several pages that can be candidates for deletion or merging.

Greetings:

I looked at the Royal Artillery Support page. It is what I meant for the other doctrine pages since most of its subpages are too short. We could build up on this, add more details and such, and make it beautiful :)

But in regards with the Mortar Pit page, I would like to merely change its name, but not delete it. from Mortar Pit to 3" Mortar Emplacement. Or if it is inappropriate, I'll stick with the original title :)

-Nuke

Greetings:
Thank you for merging the doctrine sub-pages. As for the buildings, I thought of the same thing as the sub-pages due to the same reason of them being too short - moving them to a larger page where the buildings are listed under one page would be advisable. Such an example would be the American Structures page (it needs some sprucing but I'll handle it. :D).
As for the missing links, is there any way that we can trace all the pages that uses a missing link? Or do we have to do it manually?

There will be some kinks

Greetings,

It raises my concern about your absence as an admin. Without you, I will not be able to clean up and organize some cluttered/short pages. Is there any chance that I may be able to get at least some sysop powers from someone? If in any case, would you be the one to give me some powers such as deleting and/or merging pages? Those two should suffice while I continue editing the pages that exists here.

Regards,

Greetings,
I have sent some messages to active (hopefully) wikia staff members. So far, I have sent the message regarding your temporary leave and my request for some sysop powers to 2 wikia staffs. I just hope they reply to it. If in any case that they do not reply, do you know any staff members that may be able to sort this out?

Unfortunately

Greetings,

Unfortunately, no. They said that I am not eligible to have sysop powers because I'm too premature to even ask for it. And, CocoaZen said that she is also not eligible to give sysop powers...and that only the crats may be able to do it.

Regards,

Nukedz 08:02, October 11, 2010 (UTC)

Thank you for this concern. While I wait, I shall add contribute some info and clean up some pages.

Thank you

Greetings,

Thank you for appointing me as an admin. I shall not let you down while you're overseas.

P.S. I'm having a bit of a problem with the new layout of the site. I was clearing my cookies then my view of the site was reverted to its original layout. Is there any way that I can fix it?

Greetings,
The site may need some military-like backgrounds - bullets, WWII helmets, or schematics of German tanks would make for a great background. It would be great if the site color is a mix of blue, green and black, just like the Allies and the Axis. You can add that to your ideas if you like :)
Nukedz 12:12, October 13, 2010 (UTC)
P.S. I may have to reinstall my browser. That might fix my problem. What you suggested doesn't affect my view and I'm still stuck on the old view, unfortunately.

Re: Layout

I'm fine with the new layout, currently I'm using it. The only problem is that I have always used monobook-like (Monaco, vector, etc) skins, so this skin is a bit different for me.

I agree this dark-theme is hard to read. But I don't know which theme would suit better. I think we can take a couple of ideas from a couple of a couple of dark-themed wikis: Diablo Wiki and Tron Wiki.

I have slightly changed the color of the background and links; I hope you like it. By the way I have designed a new main page, please tell me your opinion about it.

Just in case you haven't notice, take a look to this post.

Request for Adminship

Hi, Attack Rhino.

I would like to request you to give me sysop powers. Nukedz haven't been very active lately and I would like to help the growing of this wiki. I'm also very familiar with how the MediaWiki software works, with CSS and JavaScript, so I can help with that too. Regards.

--Bachinchi 19:32, November 2, 2010 (UTC)

In fact for this small wiki another admin for maintenance would be unnecessary, but I can help with customization of the "look and feel" of this wiki, templates, that kind of technical stuff and for that I need to edit the MediaWiki namespace. And for proof that I have already been involved with wikis, I own wikipedia:es:User:Locos epraix [1] and wikipedia:es:User:Bachinchi [2] (sockpuppet) accounts. Here's a counter of number of edits across all wikimedia wikis per account. And yes, I also know HTML/XML.
--Bachinchi 19:53, November 4, 2010 (UTC)

Thank you. :)

Re: Massive change to CoH:OF

I just imported the wikipedia page, ;). I also created {{reflist}} and {{Infobox VG}}. The links doesn't work because they point to this wiki, and most of them should be pointing to Wikipedia. And I agree that the page should be shorter. Regards.

--Bachinchi 19:57, November 4, 2010 (UTC)

I have fixed most of the links. Note that I also imported Company of Heroes, Company of Heroes: Tales of Valor and Company of Heroes: Online.

Re: Main Page layout, design and content

For the Main page template I only used HTML and template importing :). Now for the FA selection look at the code. The choices are randomly chosen from the content of each <option> tag. I have already created three placeholders (blablabla, currently commented out) for future FAs. It's the same thing for the videos.

Regards,

--Bachinchi 09:27, November 7, 2010 (UTC)

Yes, the sub-templates stuff is for making easier to edit specific sections of the Main Page. Here I uncommented the first placeholder and included some content. I haven't done it yet because English is not my native language so I have trouble expressing myself. Please review what I have written there. So, as you see there two options, so each one have a change of 50% of appearing in the main page. We can have as many options as we want.

Greetings,
Although I have been out of touch from the other members, I am still doing what I'm supposed to do.
Well, I liked the layout. It's a fresh start. But me being a fan of the Axis, I wanted a more...militaristic theme, like more thanks and aircraft, and probably a King Tiger header. But the Allies work for me. But they only spruced the top half of every pages though.
About Bachinchi, I have no problems with him, but I do feel overshadowed by his skill in HTML/CSS/XTM, a skill that I foregone and forgot a few years ago. Since this is my first time being an admin, I have no idea on how to manage complex coding...so I'm just happy that I can still contribute somehow.
As for me, I will stick to my plan of adding more information about the units.

Oh, and I would like some feedback the Churchill Tank page. It's a new layout that I've been thinking off that may clean up the pages a bit more. If it's okay for you, then I'll implement this to every unit page available.

Nukedz 11:40, November 7, 2010 (UTC)

Hi, Attack Rhino. The thing is I'm asking you (and Nukedz, and any other who would like to help) to make a resume for a already good article (as Churchill Tank), and put it in {{Main Page/FA}} just like this edit. And, well... I feel flattered but I'm not actually *that* good at coding, I'm just a student of engineering (electronics) and I can't make good texts, I think in Spanish and then I translate my toughs to English. That's why I have always contribute to wikis in templates and coding stuff (except for Spanish Wikipedia where I have a couple of good articles).

Re: Policies

I've made some minor changes. Nice that you agree with the policies, I sincerely hope this wiki to grow :)
