Tank Trap USA, Soviet

USA and Soviet tank trap

A Tank Trap is a light Defensive Structure that can be constructed by a Pioneer Squad, Engineer Squad or Ingenery (also by Riflemen when you have accessed Defensive Operations from Infantry Company), they prevent almost all vehicles to pass where you don't want them to.

They can only be built by the Wehrmacht, United States and Soviet Union, Panzer Elite has instead Road Blocks which is limited to the Scorched Earth Tactics.

Tips

They should be built in a line between impassable terrain like deep water, buildings or thick forest. Or you could build them in a zip-like pattern to maximise the time it will take vehicles to pass.

Keep them in front of Barbed Wire to prevent vehicles from destroying the wire, and in turn, have Mines in front of the tank traps, to kill any infantry who attempts to throw explosives at them.

Defence Ex

Defensive Example, using a Wehrmach tank trap

If you Do want vehicles to pass at a certain location, leave a hole big enough for the vehicles to pass through, where you have placed mines.

Weakness

Although tank traps can't be run over by most vehicles, they can be blasted by explosives: satchels, mortars and artillery for example, they Can also be destroyed by small arms fire, but that's time consuming and heavy tanks like Panther and King Tiger will simply crush them under their treads. Certain upgrades like the bulldozer on the M4A3R3 Sherman Crocodile will also destroy them. Infantry can simply walk past them.
