The SdKfz 250/7 Mortar Half-track is a mobile light vehicle that can fire an 8cm mortar barrage and then quickly move. The SdKfz 250 offers reasonable protection to the crew when firing a barrage in combat conditions.

Effective against light static targets. Weak armor necessitates mobility.

Overview[edit | edit source]

The SdKfz 250/7 is a mobile light artillery vehicle that can serve as a substitute for mortar teams as it is mobile and enjoys some protection against small arms fire. However, like other light vehicles, it is quite vulnerable to enemy tanks and AT guns but with the correct doctrine, this vehicle can pop smoke and relocate to safety. More often than not, this mortar halftrack is more cost effective for indirect fire support than rocket artillery.
