The Schwimmwagen Type 166 is a Reward Unit that replaces the Wehrmacht's Motorcycle reconnaissance unit in Company of Heroes: Tales of Valor.

Unit Info[]

It is nearly identical to the Motorcycle. It has slightly more defense points, but less Speed. It also has a superior Gunner and Veterancy gives it even more defense. It can cross shallow water without a Speed Penalty, and is still a reconnaissance vehicle with a large line of sight. It has the highest health of the basic Reconnaissance vehicles, and is critically hit considerably less than the basic Motorcycle. What's more, the Schwimmwagen can reverse on land and in water.

Weaknesses[]

The Schwimmwagen is a larger and slower target than the Motorcycle. It can't squeeze through gaps as quickly and cannot go through some of the smaller gaps, such as the narrow stone bridges on some maps. It also costs 40 more Manpower and trains considerably slower.

The Defensive bonus still does not help it survive Anti-Tank guns or any other explosives; American Tank Destroyers can completely wipe it out in 1 hit, and a veteran Commando P.I.A.T squad can usually send it out of control if the shot is well placed. It has a tighter radius while firing, that of an MG, and thus usually cannot fire while moving.

Veterancy[]

TheSchwimmwagen Type 166 is a light vehicle and receives veterancy through researching vehicle veterancy upgrades available at the Kampfkraft Center. Each vehicle which is already on the battlefield or will be built, receives proper upgrades. These bonuses are cumulative to each other:

	No Veterancy: Unit is at normal combat efficiency.
	Level 1 Veterancy: Damage received decreased by 15%.
	Level 2 Veterancy: Maximum health increased by 15%.
	Level 3 Veterancy: Received penetration decreased by 25%.
