The '''KV-2 "Heavy Assault Tank" '''was a Soviet heavy tank used during the Second World War. In service from 1940 until the end of the war, the KV series of tanks were renowned for their exceptionally strong armor, able to resist all but the most powerful early war German anti-tank equipment. Armed with a 152 mm howitzer, the KV-2 was extremely heavy and slow, with a turret so massive that it could only turn on flat terrain. These limitations caused the KV-2 to be replaced by other, more practical designs, with only around 300 ever being manufactured.

Overview

Armed with a 152mm cannon, this beast is effective against infantry yet remains reasonably effective against most armor. The KV-2 can take an immobile position, turning this assault vehicle into a heavy medium-ranged artillery unit with increased range and shorter reloads; most useful for defending an area or providing fire support against an entrenched opponent.
