Game Info

The HMG Commando Team is built from the HQ Glider once the Royal Commandos Support option is selected. The crew consists of a gunner, a loader and a watchman.

The Loader and watchman are armed with Sten Sub-Machine guns. The Gunner operates the Vickers Heavy Machine Gun, hence the name gunner.

The gun can only shoot the area in front of it and must be refaced to engage units on the side.

Strengths

It is very flexible, as it can kill or suppress infantry very easily, while also destroying or severely damaging scout cars, halftracks and armoured cars if the target is distracted. As it is not a static machine gun team, it can be redeployed and moved to anywhere on the battlefield.

Weaknesses

As it is very slow to move and deploy and redeploy, it is very vulnerable to any artillery, and armoured vehicles and sniper fire. While it can destroy Armoured cars, their 20mm cannon will kill the MG team before they can do much damage. As it is a very unit, and needs redeployment to drastically change firing angle, it can also be easily outflanked by enemy infantry. They just need to attack it on its flanks that are firing "dead zones" (where it cannot fire without redeployment).
