The Cromwell Medium Tank is the main workhorse of the British Army.
The Cromwell has sub-par armor but has a decent gun and great mobility, superior to the Centaur AA Tank. This makes it effective as a flanking vehicle, able to circle-strafe slower Axis vehicles. This British tank is slightly cheaper and weaker than the Wehrmacht Panzer IV in terms of combat performance, but is still a solid frontline tank. It can also fire a smoke round in an area to block line of sight and allow for a better chance of escape.
Being mobile and boasting powerful gun, cromwell is on its greatest when doing deep flaking manouvers. Its speed grants it power to run past slower vehicles and get free shots at its foe before it can even traverse its turret. However, this makes cromwell harder to use effectively than other medium tanks. Going for flanking can be dangerous if you have no knowledge of enemy numbers on particular area. Mines are also very devastating for cromwells as hitting one immediately kills its speed advantage and leaves it very exposed for damage.
If you choose hammer tactics, you can with help of royal engineers install emergency war speed to your cromwells, allowing your already high speed to reach ridiculous heights. This can be used to increase your flanking capabilities even further or help your tank to get out of the harms way.
If chosen royal engineer or tactical support regiment, you can turn your cromwell also into command vehicle. While losing some movement and reload speed, your cromwell will grant surrounding units aura that bolsters their combat capabilities, while being able to call in recon flights for 50 munitions. While not being suitable for flanking anymore, command cromwell will help your units while retaining its combat use, making it great addition to your army. Cromwell works great as command vehicle as penalties of being command vehicle are more meager with cromwell than with other tanks.
