Defensive Structure are like the word said, a structure in the form of bunker dig in pit design to defense certain position or objectives. They are part of army and play an important role of keeping freindly troops in and keeping enemies out of friendly territory.

Most of them are constructed from combat engineer such as Pioneer Squad, Engineer Squad, Luftwaffe Ground Force and Sappers. === Simple Defensive Structure ===

Simple Defensive Structures include barbed wire, sandbags, tank traps, and mines. As the cheapest and most easily set up of all defenses, these can be built by most infantry, though tank traps and mines require combat engineers to build. Resource management when laying Simple Defenses is almost negligible; only mines require a resource investment, and all others are free. The tradeoff for their ease of use, setup, and low price is a quick loss in effectiveness as the game progresses; vehicles can crush barbed wire and sandbags, and heavier tanks can roll through tank traps. Likewise, mines are destroyed when a unit triggers them, and must be re-layed to be effective again.

Light Defensive Structure
Machine Gun Nest, Bunkers, Vickers Machine Gun, Mortar Pit and Quad 20mm AA canon are the light defensive structures. Most of these structres take fuel recources(although small in amount) to be constrcted. These structures are excel at anti-personal fire as they can lay down infilade fire to surpress Infantry and damage light vehicles. Heavy vehicles such as tanks can destroy them easily.

Heavy Defensive Structure
Heavy artillery such as the 105mm Howitzer and the 25 pounder Gun Howitzer are the heaviest Allies defensive structure, capable of rained down massive howitzer shell on enemy position. But thier long cooldown time also meant they are vunerble to close combat thus require additional support from other infantry, vehicles and sometimes light defensive structure. Axis however possesed no stationary howitzer, instaed they are access to the powerful anti-aircraft and anti-tank artillery gun-the 88mm Flak 36 which can devaste the enemies armor vehicle.

Explosive Defensive Structure
Although most consider them dirty weapons, but explosive device such as Mines, Teller Mines and Butterfly Bomb provide excellent defence for delaying an advancing force, buying time for building a larger force to counter attack. These weapons also can create a invinsible barrier, restricting the enemies movement. Anti-tank gun, tank cannon and artillery weapons combined wiht the explosive munition can create a massive kill zone that can wipe out anyone or anything that try to charge into it. Explosive munition that can also demoralized the enemies if set up at strategic point and certain location, forcing them to think twice of capturing the strategic point or move into a certain area.

Defensive Structures, as their name indicates, are structures that provides protection and security to certain positions or assets. They keep sectors protected from enemy combatants, or help support friendly units. They are split into two major categories: Active Defenses and Passive Defenses.

An Active Defense, also called a "weapon emplacement", is a structure whose primary feature is a weapon of some sort. These Defensive Structures are meant to engage enemy units entering their line of fire and attempt to destroy them. The more powerful Active Defenses are constructed by dedicated engineering units such as the Wehrmacht Pioneer Squad or American Engineer Squad. Basic weapon emplacements can sometimes be constructed by other infantry units, like British Infantry Sections.

Passive Defenses are Defensive Structures that don't do anything on their own, but rather allow other units (enemy or friendly, as appropriate) to interact with them in different ways. The simplest of these may just be obstacles meant to do nothing except impede enemy movement. Others provide cover for friendly infantry, and others yet will simply explode when anything comes near them (Mines). Most Passive Defenses can be constructed by a variety of different units (mostly Infantry), and some are available to all factions.
