Early infantry kill zone

Barbed Wire is a light Defensive Structure that forces enemy infantry and light vehicles to take an other route, perhaps into your kill zone.

These can be constructed by an Engineer Squad, Pioneer Squad, Ingenery (and Panzer Grenadier, once Roadblocks in Scorched Earth Tactics has been chosen.)

Tips

Have them behind a Tank Trap section, to protect the wire and to stop infantry from walking past the tank traps, for a time at least.

In early game, build them at entrances to your area where you're not planning or want to expand, limiting the combat field and allowing you to concentrate troops.

Can be used as a cheap, ealy game outpost, build wire in a larger area around the strategic location, you could also leave a small hole, placing Mines there, killing some of or all the entering infantry.

When creating an infantry kill zone, leave a rather small hole in the wall of wire, so that few units can enter, then have a machine gun squad or equalient at a safe distance so that the enemy is being pinned in or just beyond the hole. This will give your other units that deal the finishing blow a smaller area to engage at.

Weakness

The wire can be destroyed by almost all explosives, mortar and fire bombs/grenades will wind it down, anything more destructive will pretty much instantly snap it, small arms fire will also destroy it. All vehicles heavier than say the Jeep will just simply roll over it.
